MacKenna Krupa is an artist from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a BA in Community Art and a minor in Art History in 2018. MacKenna held roles as a teaching assistant and undergraduate research assistant throughout her college career. She first gained experience with public art through her internship with the Milwaukee Art Museum where she assisted a team of high schoolers in creating a city bus mural. MacKenna later became involved with other art nonprofits in the city and obtained a position to assist with the UMOS Mural Project, a 100 ft. long mural located in Walker’s Point. Her role was to mentor the youth artists involved as well as utilize her painting skills to depict scenes from Milwaukee’s Latinx history. MacKenna sees her most valuable experiences being when she is able to collaborate and use art to connect with other people.
